About Us

Gammondale Farm is an eco-friendly, family-run farm that has been in operation for over 40 years. Located only 25 minutes from downtown Thunder Bay, ON in the beautiful Slate River Valley, Gammondale Farm provides visitors with a convenient, year-round escape from bustling city life. In addition to being a fully operative farm, we are thrilled to offer daily activities for the whole family and special event services as requested.

From horse-drawn hayrides to pumpkin picking, Gammondale Farm has something for everyone to enjoy. We encourage visitors to see our friendly farm animals before hopping on a draft horse for a ride, or launching a pumpkin using our catapult (the largest in Canada!). Enjoy Gammondale Farm at our highly anticipated annual events, including Pumpkinfest and the Easter Festival and Egg Hunt.

Looking for an event tailored to your needs? All year round, Gammondale Farm provides customized special event amenities and services for any occasion, including weddings and birthday parties. Our Log House is a charming venue for loved ones to gather and our property has plenty of room for celebration. We also offer class tours during the school year and look forward to creating a fun, educational experience for students. No matter the occasion, our knowledgeable team is available for consultation and happy to assist with special events every step of the way.

At Gammondale Farm, we pride ourselves on our ability to accommodate visitor needs. Through this flexible nature, it is our mission to bring people closer and create life-long memories together.

Log House and Grounds

Our beautiful, sprawling property sits at the base of Candy Mountain and fits seamlessly within the natural landscape of the Slate River Valley. There are plenty of walking trails and areas to sit in order to fully take in the surrounding nature, home to a variety of vegetation and wildlife. We encourage visitors to come by all throughout the year in order to experience the diversity and beauty Gammondale Farm has to offer!

Gammondale’s Log House is an available venue for events can be repurposed to fit your needs. The original Log House was built in 1894, and still exists as an attachment to our updated facility. Enjoy full use of our modern kitchen and wheelchair-friendly bathroom, and stay comfortable any time of the year with air conditioning and heating.

The big red barn houses our farm animals and is open for public visitation. Climb the stairs of the barn to see the hayloft, a great place to play or relax!
